Program Description

Saber Launch is a four-week summer transition program designed to help rising 9th grade students start high school with confidence, connection, and momentum. The program provides an intentional bridge into Shakopee High School by helping students build strong relationships, strengthen essential skills, and understand what it takes to be successful at the high school level.

Throughout the program, students engage in meaningful social-emotional learning that supports self-awareness, goal setting, and healthy peer relationships. They also receive targeted support in key math concepts and learn practical strategies for organization, time management, and academic success.

Saber Launch creates a supportive and engaging environment where students can ask questions, practice routines, and develop the confidence needed to navigate high school expectations. Students who successfully complete the program will earn one elective credit toward their high school diploma, giving them both a strong start and a tangible academic benefit. Pay Rate: $21.34/hr.

Position Description

9th grade launch Student Success paraprofessional was hired to support staff in delivering 9th grade launch programming and to support students to feel connected, stay engaged, and find success during the 9th grade launch program.

Job Summary

Support staff will be working with classroom teachers and supporting student needs within the classroom.

Qualifications
  • Position requires a high school diploma.
  • Prefer some previous experience in working with elementary students.
Working Conditions

Classroom, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling, standing, sitting
