Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to join the amazing staff at West Middle School for the school year.
Job SummaryDeliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and/or co-taught classroom, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessionals(s). Provides instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, creates a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.
Establishes effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.
- MN licensure in special education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
- NVCI (CPI) training preferred.
- Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students. Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.
- Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
- Salary ranges from $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
