Saber Connection Pearson Coordinator, 1.0 FTE, approximately 260 work days at 8 hours/day - hours will vary based on site needs Monday through Friday. This position will be a split shift.
Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator assists in the planning, development, and coordination of the Saber Connection program at Pearson Early Learning Center (PELC). This position gives work direction to staff and leads programming provided before and after school and during the summer at PELC, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high‑quality experience for all participants.
Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and development of curriculum
- Supervise and implement daily activities
- Provide leadership with program responsibilities including snack, paperwork, attendance, discipline, and communication
- Give work direction to staff onsite
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, evaluating and training staff for building
- Process time cards for staff
- Collaborate and build positive relationships with schools and district staff
- Build relationships and support school as needed
- Ensure high quality customer service
- Works directly with large and small groups of children
- Ensure children follow established rules and report concerns to Program Specialist
- Provide welcoming environment for families in Saber Connection
- Document incidents or accidents on correct forms
- Follow district, program and certification policies and procedures
- Represent Shakopee Public Schools, Community Education and Saber Connection in a positive manner

Pay Rate: $42,720 - $91,000, typical hiring range $54,000 to $64,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications- Three years experience in community education, Preschool and/or School-Age Care, or similar programs
- Experience at the building level, preferred
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Post Secondary coursework in education or related area preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a related field. A combination of education and related experience will be considered.
