Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to join the team at Shakopee High School for the 2026-27 school year.
Job SummaryDeliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and/or co-taught classroom, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessionals; provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth;
establish effective working relationships with students and parents, work collaboratively with other staff members.
- Valid MN teaching licensure in special education, specifically EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
- NVCI (CPI) training preferred.
- Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students.
- Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
Salary ranges from $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
