Floater Teacher

Job Summary

Minnesota Montessori Accelerated Learning Center in Shakopee is seeking a Floater Teacher to support all age groups!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

Compensation: $15 - $18 an hour, based on education and experience.

Location: 3150 Eagle Creek Blvd., Shakopee.

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of students and staff at all times.
• Support the lead teacher with implementation of the educational environment and curriculum consistent with American Montessori Society standards and Premier policies and procedures.
• Develop positive relationships with children and families encouraging bonding to the class and the larger school community, and communicate child’s development based on the individualized tracking of student progress and, when necessary, developmental needs to parents which may include strategies, intervention, or support from outside specialists. Maintain regular verbal and written communication with parents.
• Maintain a neat, clean, well-organized, and attractive prepared environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy. Ensure that the classroom and associated areas (including playground) meet all licensing, safety, and health requirements.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

• Previous lead teaching experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Montessori experience preferred.
