Special Education Teacher

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE, Center-Based Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to serve students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at the elementary school level (grades K-5) for the  school year. Deliver direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.

Qualifications include a current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD or ABS. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction is required. Strong classroom management skills and effective communication skills are necessary. Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff is essential.

Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
