Part-Time Afternoon Preschool Teacher

Shakopee Area Catholic School is seeking a part‑time Afternoon Preschool Teacher who is responsible for providing a high‑quality, safe, and engaging classroom environment for 3‑5 year old students in the Shakopee Area Catholic School’s Faithful Beginnings full‑day preschool program by planning, managing, and implementing research‑based curricula to ensure developmentally appropriate instruction. This is a part‑time, 25‑29 hours/week position.

• Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the academic, social‑emotional, and spiritual development of preschool‑aged children.
• Design engaging child‑initiated, play‑based instruction that fosters curiosity while promoting early literacy, numeracy, and overall school readiness.
• Use multiple assessment measures directly related to instructional goals to monitor student progress and regularly adjust instructional strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Manage student behavior using a variety of classroom management techniques and age‑appropriate interventions.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities to build partnerships with parents.
• Engage with and support students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Uphold the mission of Shakopee Area Catholic School.
