The Food and Beverage Manager will oversee the performance of Valleyfair’s entire food and beverage operation. This includes leading seasonal leadership teams, ensuring guest-ready locations, maintaining high food quality, and supporting financial goals. The manager works closely with the In-Park Revenue Director to set expectations, improve processes, and create a consistent and memorable guest experience.
Responsibilities- Lead the daily operation of all F&B locations to ensure they open on time, fully staffed, clean, and stocked.
- Conduct in-park walkthroughs to evaluate food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
- Train and develop seasonal Leads, Supervisors, and Area Managers.
- Ensure division-wide compliance with health codes, sanitation standards, and Serv Safe requirements.
- Address real-time operational needs such as equipment breakdowns, staffing gaps, or guest-related issues.
- Create and adjust labor plans based on attendance forecasts and business demand.
- Maintain food quality through consistent portioning, recipe execution, and presentation standards.
- Support special events, festivals, and catered functions to ensure high service levels.
- Manage inventory processes, food cost strategies, waste reduction efforts, and operational efficiencies.
- Respond to guest concerns and implement improvements across the division.
- Assist with planning, budgeting, training program development, and operational updates.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support park-wide operations.
- 2–4 years of restaurant or food service management experience, preferably in high-volume or multi-unit operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading teams, training staff, and maintaining service standards.
- Working knowledge of food safety practices and health department regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors, on weekends, holidays, and during peak season.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Serv Safe Food Manager and Serv Safe Alcohol certifications (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
- Hospitality or Restaurant Management education.
- Experience in theme parks, stadiums, entertainment venues, or large quick-serve environments.
- Experience overseeing catered events or festivals.
