Production Technician

Overview

Kurita America, part of the Kurita Group, is a leading water solutions provider. The group, founded in 1949, employs approximately 8,000 people across 18 countries. Kurita America is located in Shakopee, MN and offers a $23/hour Production Technician position.

• Maintain a safe work environment by using proper PPE and following all work instructions.
• Accountable for producing, repackaging or relabeling chemicals according to Kurita America's quality control procedures, including completing and maintaining batch tickets, labels, and other order details.
• Prepare parcel shipments according to 49 CFR, verifying that labels and documentation are correct before shipping.
• Accurately track lot numbers of all products shipped from the warehouse on Bill of Lading (BOL) and within the warehouse shipment system. Use FIFO to prevent spoilage and properly identify lot numbers.
• Tag and track returned chemical per Returned Materials process.
• Assist in annual and cycle inventory counts.
• Maintain all production equipment; work with Maintenance and/or Shift Lead to schedule needed repairs.
• Responsible for cleanliness of plant, grounds, and production equipment.
• Assist Shift Lead by coordinating workflow and information between shifts, QC, and Transportation.
• Request from the Production Coordinator non‑chemical products including operating supplies, safety supplies, labels, and office supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Similar industrial production experience will be considered equivalent.
• Willing to work overtime when needed.

• Mechanical abilities and aptitude combined with physical requirements: lift 100 lbs, push 750 lbs on a drum cart, use a manual pallet jack with a 4,000 lb pallet, use forklifts, wear respirator and other PPE.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify and manage process improvement.
• Must demonstrate communication, multitasking, high level of attention to detail, and thrive in a team environment.
