CNC Machinist:
Weekend Shift
The CNC Machinist:
Weekend Shift is responsible for producing parts to specifications using machine tools, hand tools, and inspection equipment. The machinist will:
- Load and unload machines
- Change tools
- Set up CNC machines (Haas, Mazak, Doosan)
- Perform offsets
- Edit G and M codes
- Perform secondary duties (broach, buffer, deburr, grind, etc.)
- Inspect parts
- Perform general maintenance on machines
- Other duties as assigned
The days and times for Weekend Shift are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:00am-5:30pm. Shift differential included. Overtime occurs as necessary.
Requirements:
Education / Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills (standard and metric)
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Ability to follow work instructions accurately
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
• Ability to work well independently as well as with others
• Have attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to proficiently read and write in English
• Ability to follow all safety rules
• Ability to work independently without guidance
• Basic understanding of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Basic understanding of G-Code and M-Code and ability to write basic programs
• Knowledge of machine operations
• Ability to operate crane
• Ability to read and understand a blueprint, tolerances, and drafting symbols related to machining
• Experience with Haas, Mazak and Doosan equipment is a plus
• Ability to do machining problem solving
• Ability to solve tooling issues
