Job Summary
The Press Expediter will verify that all jobs are ready for production, including ensuring plates are mounted correctly, dies and inks are pulled, and correct materials have been allocated. This person will also assist running press in the absence of other operators, assist Quality Control in establishing procedures, protocols, and execute training for all parties, and work on continuous improvement projects within the Flexo area.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:45am - 2:15pm
Job Description- Review job tickets for components required.
- Ensure that proofs and/or samples are in the job ticket.
- Inspect plates for any flaws, damage, or potential problems.
- Pre-stage all components at press site ready for use; includes print cylinders, mounted plates, stock, inks, tooling, and anything else required for the order.
- Maintain inventory levels and physical storage of production components.
- Upon completion of jobs, return production components to storage locations.
- General plant cleanup duties, i.e., emptying trash containers, sweeping, etc. and maintaining cleanliness of equipment.
- Assist operators on press after staging priorities are completed for the purpose of increasing productivity.
- Communicate with supervisors on job staging statuses as that may affect scheduling; identify missing components for alternative scheduling planning.
- Advise supervisors when assistance is required to maintain organization of storage locations.
- Work overtime or temporarily adjust work times as needed.
- Respect and cooperate with individuals and assist others in reaching objectives.
- Follow all safety rules/regulations, company procedures and policies.
- Continually strive to learn and improve all processes.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One plus year previous pressroom experience
- Previous Flexo experience
- Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
- Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions.
- Ability to work on complex jobs in a fast paced, quality focused environment.
- Ability to use problem-solving skills in producing jobs effectively.
- Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 Pounds.
- Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors.
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
- Frequent walking and standing.
