Manufacturing Assembly Technician

Location: Shakopee, MN
Contract Duration: 12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented Manufacturing Assembly Technicians to support the assembly, inspection, and production of advanced connectivity products in a laboratory and manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly experience who enjoy hands-on work and precision manufacturing processes.

No prior fiber optics experience is required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on assembly of components using precision tools and equipment.
  • Utilize microscopes, crimpers, stripping tools, cutters, tweezers, and other assembly tools.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • Document production results, measurements, and build information using internal systems and spreadsheets.
  • Identify and communicate product or process issues to appropriate team members.
  • Rotate between multiple workstations and manufacturing processes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the production team.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical, electro-mechanical, or precision assembly.
  • Background in industries such as electronics, PCB assembly, medical devices, aerospace, robotics, automotive manufacturing, cable assembly, or similar environments.
  • Comfortable working with small components and precision hand tools.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document work performed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using microscopes, calipers, crimpers, cutters, or inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation and quality inspection processes.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory, production, or manufacturing setting.
