JOB SUMMARY
The Planner is responsible for planning and developing the master production schedule for manufacturing products to meet delivery dates and/or achieve inventory levels or other distribution goals. Utilizes knowledge of production specifications, manufacturing processes, materials availability, and application of mathematical planning tools to develop plan. Monitors status of production results and prepares reports on results against plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
- Evaluate suppliers timeliness and match according to goals
- Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
- Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
- Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends
- Address issues regarding quality and production
- Produce reports based on findings and performance of production
- Manage deadlines based on project expectations
- Negotiate pricing as needed
Reports directly to VP Of Operations
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSThe requirements listed below are representative of the education, certifications, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Education / Experience- 4-Year in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or related fields of study (or) equivalent amount of work experience.
- Individuals with an engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering a strong plus.
- ERP system experience (SAP a plus)
- Good communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
