CNC Sheet Metal Fabricator 3rd Shift

To adjust and operate computer numerically controlled machines relating to sheet metal fabrication which could include lasers and press brakes.

• Program nest (using CAD or CAM software) and produce all sheet metal parts produced in laser cutting machines.
• Set up and run CNC press brake.
• Experience or demonstrated abilities in basic machining.
• Monitor sheet metal cell workload and ensure that all prototype parts are produced on time according to the schedule.
• Utilize and operate proper material handling equipment.
• Ensure that all parts produced in sheet metal cell meet print and process specifications through in-process parts inspections.
• Responsible for all training given within the sheet metal cell.

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 or more years of proven sheet metal/press brake experience.
• Experience or demonstrated abilities in basic machining.
• Experience or applicable technical training in tool and die, or demonstrated abilities.

Physical demands for this job can range from very light to very heavy. Lifts up to five pounds on a frequent basis in difficult work positions and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Deals with heavy weights on a rare basis, normally during set-up. Lasers present unique safety hazards which may or may not be visible. Safety rules must be understood and strictly adhered to.

Other work hazards associated with this position would be those normally found in a machine shop or factory setting. Should an injury occur, the most likely type of injuries would be cuts or pinched fingers, bruises or potential burns to eyes.
