Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department position requiring MN licensure, night shift availability, and at least 2 years of ED experience.

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC or CALS
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Strong triage skills preferred
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Fingerprinting via Live Scan required per Minnesota state background check requirements
• At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
• Handles Telestroke/Teleneurology, onsite Mental Health Assessment & Referral, Telemental Health, and Teleinterpreter services
• SANE and Domestic Violence exams performed by trained nurses
• 18% pediatric patient population with high volume of mental health and ETOH cases
• Support from Social Worker, Financial Counselor, and ED Pharmacist part of the time
• Performs moderate sedation and nitrous oxide administration
• Manages Level 1 MI's, Trauma Codes, Code Stroke, Code Sepsis, and Medical Alerts (cardiac arrest, overdose, respiratory distress)
• Utilizes Nicom noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring, Ranger Rapid Infuser/Fluid Warmer, Venue 40, Bladder Scanner, Life Pak Defib, Lucas, Dash 5000 cardiac monitors, and Airpal
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Works up to every other weekend
• May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Provide emergency nursing care across trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and behavioral health cases
• Perform SANE and Domestic Violence exams as a trained nurse when applicable
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Radius requirement of 100 miles from the facility applies for this position
• Candidates must be gone 3 months from last shift worked as a Perm (Staff or Per Diem) employee to be eligible to return
• RTO ideally no more than 5 days
• Pre-start onboarding modules required, averaging 8 hours to complete
