** The Role and Why It's Important
** Our Market Grille Express Clerks keep things moving in one of the busiest parts of the store, making sure customers get fresh, quality food quickly and with a smile. In this role, you'll handle everything from taking orders and prepping product to keeping the department stocked and the work area spotless.

** What You'll Do
** No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:
* Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making every interaction a positive one
* Take customer orders at the Market Grille Express counter and answer the telephone promptly, providing helpful service including taking product orders
* Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary
* Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure an adequate food supply is ready and on hand
* Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness throughout your shift
* Maintain a clean, sanitary work area at all times
* Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
* Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable
* Remove trash in a timely manner and wash dishes as necessary
* Price and order product and deliver orders as needed
* Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
* Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
* Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
* Report to work when scheduled and on time
** Your Skills
** To be successful, you'll need to be able to:
* Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables
* Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately
* Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing
* Work effectively as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience
