Pharmacy Clerk

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Ensures cleanliness of department. Orders product and supplies and logs invoices as necessary.

Accountable and reports to:
District Store Director;
Store Manager;
Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Store Operations and Perishables;
Pharmacy Department Manager;
Pharmacists.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Stocking received product and supplies
• Working with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Reviewing prescriptions that are not picked up
• Ordering product and supplies
• Logging invoices as necessary
• Preparing paperwork and compiling medicine for delivery orders and mail outs
• Cleaning, emptying garbage, etc. to ensure the pharmacy has a clean and inviting appearance
• Taking orders for refills from customers
• Maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
• Gathering patient information required to prepare prescriptions
• Keeping pharmacy supplies well stocked
• Performing cash transactions
• Adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines
• Reporting to work when scheduled and on time
• Administering vaccines as allowed by law

Secondary duties and responsibilities include:

• Completing the sale
• Assisting in other areas of store as needed
• Performing other job related duties and special projects as required

Education and experience:

High school or equivalent experience. Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience. If applicable, vaccination certification as required by law.

Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and exert a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working conditions include exposure to noise on a daily basis and occasional exposure to dangerous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugs.

Confidentiality:
Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information.

Contacts:
Deals with the general public on a daily basis, works with suppliers/vendors monthly.

The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $16.00 to $20.00 depending on experience.
