Position Overview
EPG Sales Engineer – Ziegler CAT.
Responsibilities- Seek out prospective customers and provide proposals for Electric Power Generation equipment.
- Respond to current customer requests for Electric Power Generation equipment.
- Analyze engineering specifications to quote equipment that meets project requirements.
- Analyze sales opportunities in the territory and systematically target business opportunities.
- Document the project and component specifications required by individual customers.
- Document sales quotations for customers using standard Ziegler formatting.
- Support other Sales Engineers and customers by providing technical information, literature, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Learn about Cat and competitive products to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
- Quote and close sales transactions within assigned authority parameters, completing all required sales documentation.
- Coordinate the activities of support divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to manage product field service and product quality issues.
- Document quotation, win, loss, and data along with other business activities.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of technical sales experience.
- Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of internal combustion engine installations and drive trains.
- Analytical skills.
- Experience with Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine desired.
Physical Requirements
Up to 25% travel. Minimum physical requirements include standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing. Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor; noise level may be moderate at times.
