Door-to-Door Sales Representative

We're Heads Up Outdoor Services, a locally owned lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal company out of Shakopee. We've built a 4.9-star reputation across the southwest Twin Cities since 2020, and right now more homeowners want us than we're reaching. That's where you come in. This is a field sales role: you're out in the neighborhoods we serve, knocking on doors, offering free quotes, and signing folks up for services we're genuinely good 're paid on commission for every customer you bring on, and there's no cap on it.

Most days you'll pick a neighborhood in the SW metro, park, and start walking. You knock, you introduce yourself, and you offer people a free quote on mowing, cleanups, mulch, or a bigger landscaping project. Some doors you'll have a good conversation and write them up on the spot. Others you'll leave a card and circle back. Your job is to turn a friendly two-minute chat into a signed customer.

• Canvass residential streets in Shakopee and the surrounding southwest metro on your own schedule.
• Explain what we do in plain terms and hand people a quote they can say yes to.
• Sign up new lawn and landscape customers and pass their details to our team so we can get them on the schedule.
• Keep track of the streets you've hit and the folks who asked you to come back.
• Represent a company people already trust, and be someone a homeowner is glad opened their door.

You don't need a sales background. You need to be comfortable talking to strangers, able to hear "no thanks" a few times and keep walking, and reliable enough to put in the hours when the weather's good. If you're friendly, self-motivated, and you like the idea of your paycheck reflecting how hard you hustle, you'll do well here.

This is an independent contractor role (1099), paid on straight commission. You set your own hours and work as much or as little as you want, though the reps who put in real weeks during the season make the most. Because it's contract commission, what you earn is up to you, and there's no ceiling on it.

Here's a realistic picture of the money. You earn a commission for every customer you sign up, in the range of roughly $40 to $90 per sign-up depending on the service and the size of the job. Reps who work solid weeks tend to land somewhere around $700 to $1,500+ a week
, which pencils out to about $20 to $30 an hour on a good stretch. Strong closers on hot streaks make more, since the commission is uncapped. These are honest market ranges to set expectations, not a guarantee. The owner will walk you through the exact per-sign-up numbers when you talk, and your take-home depends on how many doors you knock and how many you close.

You're selling something people are actually happy to buy. We've got a 4.9-star rating and a real crew that shows up and does the work, so the customers you sign don't come back to you unhappy. You'll deal with the owner directly, not a call center in another state. We'll train you on what to say and how we quote, and if you turn out to be good at this, there's room to earn more and take on more.
