As a Security Officer Patrol Guard in Shakopee, MN
, you will serve and safeguard clients in government and other settings. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor interactions. This role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, teamwork, integrity, and reliability.
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $22.15 / Hour
Job Schedule: Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
What You'll Do- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and report security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions requiring attention.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas; assist with access control, visitor processing, and verification of authorized presence per site policies.
- Support daily operations by maintaining a visible presence, communicating professionally with the public and staff, and following post orders related to security procedures and incident response.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
