Apprentice Electrician

Overview

The Apprentice Electrician position is responsible for the efficient manufacture, fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and support operations of all company-supported electrical products and equipment.

• Manufacturing/Fabrication Responsibilities:
  • Installation of electrical switch gear and equipment on power vans, control vans, and operator control modules.
  • Rebuilding of used electrical switch gear and equipment on power vans, control vans, and operator control modules.
  • Layout and assembly of electrical panels and switch gear.
• Electrical Inventory Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complete materials and parts lists for posting to appropriate work orders.
  • Prepare parts, cords, and switch gear assemblies for shipping to customers and/or vendors.
  • Assist in maintaining, organizing, and other duties related to electrical inventory.

• Extensive electrical experience required.
• Verifiable apprenticeship hours preferred.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Forklift equipment operations background.
• Experience with soft starts, VFDs, and interlocking circuits.
• Read, draw, and understand electrical drawings (e.g., ladder diagrams) for control schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record.
• Positive mental attitude.
• Works efficiently and effectively.
• Willing to travel as needed, including potential overnight field service work with short notice.
