Responsibilities- Coordinate teller area operations by scheduling staff, assigning work, answering questions, resolving problems, and assisting with complex transactions and sensitive situations.
- Ensure tellers balance accurately and in a timely manner at the close of business and that all monies are secured according to established security procedures.
- Assist in hiring and training of new tellers.
- Follow established processes and guidelines; adhere to all application laws and regulations.
- Represent the bank to clients in a courteous, professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, accurate service in transaction processing.
- Recognize and respond to cross‑selling opportunities.
- Handle check and cash deposits, verify amounts, examine endorsements, and enter deposits into the core processing system.
- Issue cashier’s checks and gift cards.
- Receive consumer loan and other payments; ensure payments match balances due and enter transactions into bank records.
- Check night depository bags and record information on the financial institution’s forms.
- Maintain reports documenting teller outages, balances, and time cards.
- Supervise day‑to‑day teller operations.
- Research and resolve transaction/cash discrepancies.
- Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems.
- Conduct quarterly follow‑up training with direct reports.
- Evaluate employees’ performance, complete reviews, issue warnings, and develop improvement plans.
- Mentor, observe, and coach teller staff to maintain optimal customer service levels.
- Participate in team meetings and hold them as needed.
- Ensure comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer service.
- Audit teller drawers and monetary instruments as stipulated in the teller manual.
- Identify opportunities for associates to enhance career development and recommend promotions or status changes.
- Resolve escalated complaints or disputes.
- Assist other branches with coverage and/or questions when needed.
- Represent the bank professionally during and outside office hours.
- Order and sustain necessary office supplies for the teller area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of previous banker and/or teller experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of bank products and services.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
