Patient Care Technician; Advanced Acute Care Units - No CNA Cert - Day Shift

Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer a Patient Care Technician a $1500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $18.94 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who is committed to delivering the highest quality care to our patients. They demonstrate a strong ability to meet both the orientation and long‑term full‑time scheduling requirements of the role. Reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance are essential.

Primary duties may include:

• Facilitating ADLs: hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals
• Collecting vital signs & daily weights
• Conducting point‑of‑care testing
• Turning and repositioning patients
• Performing equipment checks & exchanges
• Dressing care
• Removing Foley catheter and peripheral IV
• Removing nasogastric tubes and performing nasal swabs
• Checking code carts and oxygen storage cabinets

Advanced Acute Care Units – Danville, Bloomsburg, Shamokin campuses

Schedule:

Three 12‑hour day shifts (7:00 am – 7:30 pm) per week, including every other weekend and holiday.

Orientation:
Two‑week classroom orientation, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required
• Graduate from specialty training program – preferred
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience (preferred)
• Certifications and licenses as required
