Chief Accountant – Retail

Role Overview

Chief Accountant specializing in retail performance analysis. Responsible for managing financial operations, analyzing sales and performance data to support management in making data‑driven decisions and improving overall business efficiency.

• Financial Management:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations
  • Manage monthly and yearly closing processes
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Performance Analysis (Retail & MIS):
  • Prepare detailed sales reports for all branches
  • Analyze product performance (Top / Slow / Dead Stock)
  • Analyze sales staff performance (Sales per Staff / Productivity)
  • Prepare reports based on key performance indicators such as:
    • Average Transaction Value (ATV)
    • Units per Transaction (UPT)
    • Profit margins
  • Identify performance gaps and root causes
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve sales and profitability
• Management Support:
  • Prepare periodic analytical reports for senior management
  • Convert data into actionable business insights
  • Identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (mandatory)
  • Professional certifications (CPA / ACCA) are preferred
• Experience:
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience
  • Proven experience in the retail sector (mandatory)
  • Experience in MIS / Sales analysis reporting
• Skills:
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables / Dashboards / Data Analysis)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to link data to business performance
  • Deep understanding of retail KPIs
  • High accuracy and ability to work under pressure
• Key Requirement (Non‑Negotiable):
  Ability to professionally analyze sales data and convert it into clear, actionable reports that support decision‑making, not just perform traditional accounting tasks.
