Financial Controller

Our client is a regional market leader in the oil & gas industry.

We are only considering candidates from a manufacturing environment, where there has been exposure to a commercial business (including liaison / business partnering with supply chain, sales teams etc)

The Financial Controller / Head of Accounting is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and full compliance across a multi-entity, international environment.

This role plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, supporting commercial activity, and strengthening financial governance.

The CFO is looking for someone who will transform the accounting department, continuously improve processes and bring a fresh perspective with the introduction of AI & automation.

Successful candidates must be hands‑on – this includes reviewing work of the team of accountants.

• Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Deliver insightful reporting including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
• Continuously enhance financial processes

• Monitor and optimise cash flow, liquidity, and overall working capital
• Partner with treasury on banking activities, reconciliations, and forecasting

• Lead billing, collections, and receivables across multiple international markets
• Drive improvements in collection cycles and reduce overdue balances
• Manage staff responsible for the full payables cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier payments

• Oversee product costing and margin analysis
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and reduce variances

• Act as key point of contact for internal and external audits
• Ensure full compliance with tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements

• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team of 6 staff
• Drive a high-performance culture with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Business Partner to Sales and Supply Chain teams

• Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA)
• Forward thinking and can see the bigger picture – commercially minded
• Growth mindset
• 10+ years’ experience in accounting, including in a leadership role
• Background in manufacturing, FMCG or oil & gas downstream
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, costing, and controls
• Experience with ERP systems
• Proven ability to manage teams and operate in a fast-paced, multi-market environment
• Suit: someone mid career, 10-15 years post-qual experience

Salary: AED 30-40k + excellent incentive bonus scheme
