Job Accountabilities
Real Estate Finance is a newly established function created within Repossessed Real Estate RE Function to achieve the required focus on accounting, reporting, and governance aspects of the Real estate function. While the RE Function is still undergoing reorganization, the New Officer’s initial tasks will be to establish and maintain monthly Real estate property trackers setting out acquisition, valuation, and disposal details, being the source document for financial management and regulatory reporting, establish control around various accounts and GLs used by the RE Function by creating and updating Inventory and Ownership GL cleanups.
The accounts and GLs have undergone several cost centre changes, bringing all balances to the current cost centre level, clearing the legacy backlog, reconciling items pertaining to rented properties, preparing and submitting monthly reconciliation statements of rental accounts to Head of Financial Control and Governance, setting up SOPs for Finance and governance related tasks, implementing standardized methods of posting of rental related transactions, establishing a payments tracker allowing to monitor vendor payment status and coordinate with accounts payable team, and ensuring Financial Control reflects the same.
- Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting.
- 1-2 years’ experience of working in financial controls handling accounting, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.
- Strong Accounting controls and governance experience.
- Reconciliation process.
- Strong MS excel skills.
- Demonstrate possession of commercial acumen, strategy.
- Suggest improvements in the process / environment.
