Job Summary

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the preventive maintenance strategy for all heavy equipment, trucks, vehicles, cranes, lifting machines, and support equipment. The role ensures maximum fleet availability, reduction of breakdowns, cost control, and full compliance with maintenance standards. The PM Manager plays a vital role in improving reliability, safety, and efficiency across all workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Preventive Maintenance Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a full preventive maintenance strategy covering all asset categories.
  • Set PM standard, procedures, and inspection guidelines for all equipment types.
  • Monitor compliance with PM schedules and take corrective action to improve adherence.
  • Lead PM optimization initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment life cycle.
  • Supervise PM supervisors, planners, controllers, and technicians.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly PM schedules are executed effectively.
  • Monitor equipment hours, usage trends, and PM intervals.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective improvements.
  • Ensure availability of PM kits, lubricants, and consumables.
  • Approve PM checklists and ensure high‑quality inspections.
  • Maintain accurate PM history and reports for all assets.
  • Monitor PM KPIs including backlog, compliance %, breakdown ratio.
  • Ensure all PM activities comply with HSE standards.
  • Implement lockout/tagout and safe maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe working culture.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 12–15 years of experience in preventive maintenance of heavy equipment or automotive fleets.
  • Strong leadership and planning skills.
  • Strong reporting skills.
