The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facilities and associated infrastructure.
Skills- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, panels, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using testing and diagnostic tools (multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester, etc.).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment such as:
- Distribution boards and switch gear
- Motors and motor control centers (MCCs)
- Lighting systems
- Control panels and protection devices
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation.
- Support energy efficiency and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures strictly.
