The Town of Sharon is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support its Finance Committee. This role offers flexible, primarily remote hours, meaningful municipal work, and a professional committee environment - ideal for someone looking to pick up extra hours.
Duties include:- Compiling and maintaining information for committee and public use;
- Preparing and posting meeting agendas;
- Maintaining Committee’s webpage on town website;
- Taking, compiling and archiving meeting minutes in accordance with the Open Meeting Law; and
- Completing miscellaneous clerical duties.
It is preferred that the Administrative Assistant attend the Monday evening meetings (most meetings are held virtually via Zoom), but negotiable. The Finance Committee meets approximately two times per month; the number of hours is subject to fluctuations during town meeting/budget season. Most of the work can be performed remotely. This is a great position for someone looking to pick up extra hours.

The position is part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per month) with no benefits.
Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma and one year of experience in administrative work; experience drafting municipal meeting minutes preferred. Ability to deal with committee members, staff and others in a courteous and tactful manner. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently are all essential for the successful job candidate. Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications required.
Salary$25.68 - $27.79 per hour; hiring range up to $26.19, with annual increases
