Job Title: District-Wide School Psychologist
Location: District-Wide (Multiple School Sites)
Reports To: Director of Student Services / Special Education
Position Summary
The District-Wide School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services across multiple schools within the district. This role focuses on conducting psycho educational assessments and neuropsychological assessments, consulting with staff and families, and supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development through targeted counseling and intervention planning.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive psycho educational assessments and neuropsychological assessments to determine eligibility for special education services and inform instructional planning
- Administer and interpret a variety of standardized assessments (cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional)
- Write clear, legally compliant evaluation reports and present findings at team meetings
- Participate in re-evaluations and progress monitoring in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop effective strategies for diverse learners
- Provide consultation on classroom management, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional supports
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams, including IEP and 504 plan meetings
- Partner with families to support student success and communicate assessment results and recommendations
- Provide individual and group counseling aligned with student IEP goals and social-emotional needs
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to address behavioral and mental health concerns
- Support crisis prevention and intervention efforts as needed
- Monitor student progress toward counseling and behavioral goals and adjust interventions accordingly
- Assist in the development and implementation of district-wide mental health and behavioral initiatives
- Contribute to the creation of a positive school climate across buildings
- Provide professional development to staff on relevant topics (e.g., SEL, behavior management, trauma-informed practices)
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA, Section 504)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple school settings
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a district-wide caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Cultural competence and commitment to equity in education
- Problem-solving and consultation expertise
