Overview
Civil Project Manager opportunity hosted by Jobot. Role focuses on civil engineering for land development, infrastructure design, and construction document preparation for roads, parking areas, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, utilities-waters, sanitary sewers, sediment and erosion control, and outline specifications. The position involves advancing land development civil engineering design concepts and collaborating with staff, reviewers, and clients. The Project Manager is responsible for overall supervision of assigned projects to meet contractual obligations, timelines, and budget.
The Project Engineer/Manager may serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager for selected projects.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Provide and develop schematic design information.
- Incorporate design concepts from schematic design development and work with the project team to produce construction documents.
- Coordinate work with other design professionals and staff activities to achieve project budget, schedule and quality goals.
- Produce drawings and sketches for drafters; direct technicians to convert designs to working drawings.
- Perform calculations for storm sewers, storm detention systems, storm water best management practices, and sanitary sewer systems.
- Utilize computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
- Select details, general notes and outline specifications for the project.
- Act as liaison with reviewing agencies; interact with clients during and after the project.
- Respond to questions and provide daily guidance to the project team; identify problems and develop solutions.
- Provide value engineering and ensure accuracy and quality of plans.
- Develop technical competence for junior team members; attend construction meetings and produce site observation reports.
- Support business development where appropriate and participate in company-relevant organizations.
- Assist in preparation of contractual agreements and understand contract requirements with clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; professional engineering registration with the State of Ohio; minimum of 7 years of experience in land development engineering.
- Strong desire to continue learning, professional advancement, and ability to work in a fast-paced, design-team environment.
- Understanding of local, state and federal codes and regulations.
- Ability to utilize computer systems as a design and project-management tool.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and project teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
