Senior Level Diesel Technician

Ryder | Permanent Full Time | Sharonville, Ohio, US

• Hourly Pay: $39.58 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday–Thursday, Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair, including standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer equipment
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work unsupervised on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
• Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
• Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
• Support Service Island duties as required
• Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220)
• Complete 2 OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days (fleet mix)

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines (preferred)
• Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Additional mandatory certifications required by location
• Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)
