Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Sharonville, Ohio offering a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Salary and Bonuses
  • Hourly Pay: $36.13
  • Certification Bonus up to $700 for new ASE Certification
  • Quarterly Bonus up to $500 (Four times per year)
  • Second Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
  • Schedule:

    Monday through Friday, weekends off

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
  • Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from prior three years)
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections/repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer
  • Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform required repairs
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Comply with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
