Service Technician
Reports To:
Service Manager
The primary function of the Service Technician is to diagnose and complete repairs on heavy and medium duty trucks, including heavy‑duty trucks, large construction vehicles, buses, and tractor trailers. Tasks include inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, installation, and repair of components, engines, and systems related to these vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform recommended routine maintenance procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests for issues, failures, and performance.
- Determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
- Routinely use computerized equipment and specialized tooling.
- Complete assigned repairs and tasks in a timely and safe manner.
- Accurately record time, cause, and correction on repair orders.
- Test components that may be required to drive trucks before and after repairs.
- Participate and complete technical training and professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Basic computer skills and repair order processing software knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license; must maintain a safe driving record. A current Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and perform varying shift work, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call or emergency repair shifts.
- Ability to work hands‑on in a workshop or service area, including lifting tools and parts up to 150 lbs unassisted and working in confined spaces.

- Lifting: safely lift and move heavy objects; must lift 60–150 lbs unassisted.
