Job SummaryAs aField
Service Technician, you’ll be at the heart of what we do:diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining
Caterpillarmachines in the field. Whether it’s a dozer, excavator, wheel loader,haul truck, you’ll use your skills and experience to deliver top-tier service that keeps our customers moving. You will work in the field from a service truck servicing and performing:
- Diagnosticsand repair on heavy equipment, including
Caterpillarengines and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems. - Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect and maintain equipment, and rebuildcomponents to ensure optimal performance.
- Additional duties include servicing Air Conditioning systems, maintaining detailed service records, collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs, and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer literacy
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
- In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System)
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment
- Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card

Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers - The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
