Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. This position will support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of our hardware store. The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, comfortable working with numbers, and able to handle confidential information professionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily data entry and maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with general ledger entries and account reconciliation
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and other financial documents
  • Assist with balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other basic financial reporting
  • Work within Quick Books to enter, organize, and maintain financial information
  • Use Excel to create and manage spreadsheets and reports
  • Maintain organized and accurate records and files
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and related paperwork
  • Handle confidential employee and financial information with discretion
  • Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with data entry, spreadsheets, and general ledger functions
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, including balance sheets, P&L reports, as well as maintenance of assets and depreciation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred
