The teacher will create, develop, implement, and reflect on units, lessons, assessments, and interventions for Physical Science (Grade 9), Biology (Grade 10), Chemistry, and AP Chemistry. Instruction is delivered on a 90‑minute block schedule with four blocks per day, alternating A/B days. The teacher will be an active member of a PLC, collaborating on common assessments and data analysis to inform instruction, and may join one of the building‑level improvement teams (SET, PBIS, SOS, ACP).
Students also participate in the daily “Hawk Time” intervention period for reteaching and extension of Tier I concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science Education, or related field.
- Valid state teaching license or eligibility to obtain certification for secondary science education.
- Strong knowledge of scientific principles, laboratory procedures, and safety practices.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and communicate complex concepts to diverse learners.
- Proficiency with educational technology and commitment to fostering critical thinking, problem‑solving, and scientific inquiry.
- Previous teaching or student‑teaching experience preferred but not required.
