Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Instructional
Coaching:- Provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full and skillful implementation of the district's adopted curriculum and philosophy.
- Advise and assist teachers in assessing student needs and appropriate teaching strategies.
- Assist teachers in preparation and pacing for instruction.
- Develop coaching cycles that maintain a focus on student outcomes.
- Professional Development and Leadership:
- Design and provide professional development in support of the district's Professional Learning Community and curriculum.
- Facilitate appropriate team meetings.
- Participate in the school's Guiding Coalition and Leadership Team.
- Demonstrate exemplary best instructional practice and possess a deep understanding of literacy and learning theory through ongoing professional development and research.
- Serve as a member of the Department of Learning.
- Coordinate and facilitate instructional resources and implementation.
- Assist in all standards and curriculum adoption processes.
- Data Collection & Analysis:
- Evaluate student achievement in conjunction with other staff for the purpose of placing students in appropriate interventions and supports.
- Analyze data and report findings annually for the purpose of sharing school-wide achievement to make informed decisions regarding literacy instruction.
- Prepare forms, records, and reports as directed.
- Tier II/III Instruction and Coordination:
- Provide support and/or instruction for students in tiers II & III.
All responsibilities are carried out with a focus on student success, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor s Degree in Education
- Teaching License and Reading Teacher License #1316
Preferred:
- Expertise in all aspects of Act 20
- Experience supporting multiple new staff members
- Experience with HMH Into Reading Version 3, 95% Group Core Phonics, and Simplify Writing
