Engineering Rotational Program - December 2026 Graduates | Charter Manufacturing
The Tone:
This is a full-time rotational engineering program at Charter Casting, located in Shawano, WI. Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business driven by a will to grow and a commitment to continuous improvement. Joining the team means becoming part of their family. This new program is specifically designed to launch engineering careers for December 2026 graduates, developing future engineering leaders within their foundry operations.
The role is critical for building a strong foundation in technical, operational, and leadership skills, enabling contributions to key manufacturing processes and technologies.

To build a strong technical, operational, and problem-solving foundation across manufacturing operations, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. - Tech Stack:
Automation, controls, digital manufacturing technologies, root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma
- Foundation Building:
Develop a strong technical, operational, and problem-solving foundation through structured, hands-on learning, including shop-floor immersion across manufacturing operations. - Continuous Improvement Leadership:
Lead and support process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost, contributing to operational excellence within the foundry. - Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze complex production data to identify opportunities, solve intricate problems, and implement sustainable solutions that improve overall operational performance. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Commercial, to drive continuous improvement and achieve results. - Structured Problem Solving:
Apply structured methodologies such as root cause analysis, Lean principles, and Six Sigma techniques to improve manufacturing performance, and document best practices for knowledge sharing.
- Background:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, specifically for December 2026 graduates, indicating an entry-level career stage. - Experience:
Previous internship, co-op, or other related engineering work experience is preferred to demonstrate initial industry exposure. - Skills:
High level of initiative with a passion for continuous improvement, excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, and effective interpersonal skills to collaborate across all organizational levels. - Bonus:
Experience gained in a manufacturing environment is considered a plus.
