Patient Access Registrar

Theda Care -  -  - Responsibilities:
Assigns accurate MRNs, completes medical necessity/compliance checks, collects insurance information, receives and processes physician orders, and utilizes overlay tools while providing excellent customer service;
Operates the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls as applicable;
Performs pre-registration of patient accounts including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information including patient financial liabilities and collecting point-of-service collections, past due balances, and bad debt;
Explains general consent for treatment forms to the patient/guarantor/legal guardian, and obtains necessary signatures;
Reviews eligibility responses in insurance verification system and appropriately selects the applicable insurance plan code and enters benefit data to support point-of-service collections and billing processes
