Class A CDL Delivery Driver

Job Summary

Performance Food Group (PFG) is recruiting a CDL‑A Driver to deliver food and food service products. The role includes local, intrastate and interstate routes, with early morning starts and no night or weekend work.

• $10,000 Hiring Bonus (terms apply; recent PFG employees not eligible).

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers.

• Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally and accurately.
• Team member within the department and organization, perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
• Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and securing of freight; perform count check of items; verify customer invoices.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Move tractor to loading dock, attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule.
• Unload products from the trailer, transport items to designated customer storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks, scan records, and contact supervisor per company policy.
• Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
• Collect money (cash or checks) where required; load customer returns onto trailer and secure doors.
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork; remove trash from trailers.
• Complete daily hours of service record and log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and keep trailers clean and clear.
• At end of shift, secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL‑A license.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years.
• Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
• Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds up to 60–90 pounds as required.
