Project Accounting Specialist II

We are hiring a Project Accounting Specialist II to support project-based financial operations across fabrication and installation work. This role is ideal for:
- Level 2 accountants with hands-on experience
- Public accounting professionals transitioning to private industry
- Project accountants who want deeper ownership of job cost and project performance
You will play a critical role in job costing, WIP reporting, project billing, and revenue recognition — partnering directly with Project Managers and Operations leaders.
Core Responsibilities Project Accounting & Financial Tracking- Maintain project setup, budgets, and cost codes
- Track labor, materials, subcontractor, and overhead costs by project
- Prepare and analyze WIP schedules and revenue recognition entries
- Review project margins and forecast adjustments with Project Managers
- Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation
- Issue progress billings, milestone invoices, and change order billing
- Support AR collections related to project timelines
- Accruals, reconciliations, and job cost analysis
- Assist with financial reporting tied to project profitability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–4 years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- Construction or project-based accounting experience
- Job costing, WIP, and project billing exposure
- Public accounting background (audit or tax) with interest in industry accounting
(This role is not intended for medical billing or automotive dealership accounting backgrounds.)
