Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support to members of Classification, Unit Team, and Programs. The mission of this position is to ensure that procedures and processes are addressed in a timely fashion. The goal of this position is to provide support and assistance to the records office staff and the Classification Administrator.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
* Process all detainers according to policy and procedure as they arrive, completing all needed steps within 7 days.

* Complete necessary paperwork within 5 working days of request from inmate for mandatory disposition of detainers (180-day writ) or executive clemency. Print prisoner review board minutes from Toads and distribute.
* Prepare master files for intakes
* Provide back up support to other records personnel in imaging process, facility count procedures, daily entry of moves in computer system, intake procedures and release processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Six months of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency
Preferred Qualifications:
* Completion of the Department's Supervisory Training Course.
* Ability to deal effectively with individuals.
* Knowledge of procedures and practices of supervising inmates confined to an adult maximum correctional institution.
* Ability to use physical force as warranted subduing violent inmates.
* Limited independent work experience in general corrections.
* Three years of experience in corrections or detention work.
Pre-employment & Post-Offer Requirements:
* Must have a Valid High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* Must possess good overall physical & mental condition consistent with the unassisted ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, essential functions of a Administrative Assistant.
* Must take and pass drug screen, background check, and two Tuberculosis (TB) tests.
* Must be a current United States Citizen.
* Must be free of misdemeanor convictions involving domestic battery as an adult unless the conviction was for a battery committed prior to July 1, 1997, and has been expunged. Must be free of felony convictions.
