Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The position (K0231131)

Coordinates the statewide collection of STI surveillance data received from hospitals, clinics, public health agencies, or other sources to assure the completeness and accuracy of critical information necessary to effectively monitor and asses the health of Kansans, including but not limited to, moving gonorrhea and chlamydia faxes to appropriate folders, entering gonorrhea and chlamydia data from faxes and the EMSA queue, and assuring data is entered in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.

Works to facilitate Electronic Condition Reporting for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) with the Interoperability Lead in the Bureau of Epidemiology and Public Health Informatics (BEPHI) for Kansas providers. Acts as a liaison for local health departments, providing information on current reporting guidelines for chlamydia and gonorrhea as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Attend and participate in required meetings, including, but not limited to, weekly or bi-weekly meetings with supervisor, Kansas Syndemic Advisory Group (KSAG) meetings, KSAG work group meetings as assigned, and weekly team meetings. Attend and participate in professional development opportunities as job functions and time allow.

Qualifications

* Education:

* Licensing & Certification:

* Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

* Minimum Qualifications:

* Six months of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

* Proofreading, editing, attention to detail

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

* Experience using analytical/critical thinking

* Efficient computer skills

* Experience with data entry

* Able to analyze, collect, and interpret data

* Experience with health information management systems

* Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

* Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas.
