Summary
Dimensional Innovations is seeking a multidisciplinary Experiential Designer to help create immersive, story‑driven environments that connect people to place. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, spatial design, and storytelling—focused on shaping physical experiences rather than traditional buildings. You’ll work alongside strategists, fabricators, technologists, and project teams to translate ideas into compelling spatial concepts, from early sketches through design development.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop spatial design concepts for branded environments, exhibits, and experiential installations
- Translate ideas into clear visual narratives through sketches, diagrams, and presentations
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to evolve concepts into buildable solutions
- Explore form, scale, proportion, and human experience in physical space
- Create iterative design studies and participate in critiques and design reviews
- Support design development with an understanding of materials, fabrication, and construction constraints
- Contribute to storytelling through environmental graphics, layout, and spatial sequencing
- Participate in client presentations and communicate design intent clearly
- Strong spatial thinking and ability to design in 3D
- Solid grasp of scale, proportion, and human‑centered design
- Ability to move from concept to iteration to refined solution
- Proficiency in sketching (hand and/or digital) to communicate ideas quickly
- Experience with design storytelling and narrative development
- Working knowledge of materials and how things get built
- Comfort working in ambiguity and collaborating across disciplines
- 3D modeling tools (Rhino, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar)
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Rendering tools (Enscape, V‑Ray, Lumion, or equivalent)
- Physical or digital prototyping workflows
- Background in architecture, interior design, industrial design, or similar
- Experience in experiential design, exhibitions, or themed environments
- Familiarity with fabrication processes or shop drawings
- Motion, interactive, or media integration awareness
- You generate clear, compelling spatial ideas that others can build on
- You communicate concepts in a way that aligns teams and excites clients
- You balance creativity with real‑world constraints
- You contribute to projects that feel intentional, immersive, and human‑centered
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Employee must be able to talk and hear
Due to our onsite fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
