The department is governed by the Kansas State Board of Education, but the day-to-day administration of the agency is the responsibility of the Commissioner of Education, who is appointed by the Board of Education.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This position provides administrative support for the Fiscal and Administrative Services Deputy Commissioner.

Required
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support with strong editing skills. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills and/or
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of applicable software including word processing, excel, databases, spreadsheets and power point;
* Ability to assume responsibility and perform program management details independently;
* Ability to work in a team environment;
* Effective interpersonal, organization, problem solving and time management skills;
* Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner, both orally and in writing; and
* Knowledge of business correspondence and business English.
