Title
Associate Service Technician
Key Accountabilities- Assist in the servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling of engines, propulsion systems and their electronic systems
- Perform all duties in a safe, respectful and organized manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and in accordance with RRS Code of Conduct
- Analyze technical data
- Plan, prepare and request all parts and tools to perform job functions
- Assess and plan scope of work to ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities
- Write thorough, detailed reports at job completion
- Maintain MTU engine, vessel and equipment logs
- Commission and operate engines and propulsion systems
- Train/demonstrate maintenance, safe operation and shutdown of MTU equipment to customer
- Instrument propulsion systems and record test data
- Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
- Work with product groups on product design development
- Provide input for updates of service manuals and bulletins
- Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
- Remain technically current
- Perform special projects as needed

- Two years in a mechanical trade school or Associate's Degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology; or two years of field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience
- Ability to travel 70‑100% on short notice domestic and international
- Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20‑60 lb range
- Good knowledge of internal combustion engine operation
- Good knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controls
- Good ability to use mechanical, electrical, measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
- Good ability to operate machine shop equipment used for cleaning, testing or fabricating parts and equipment
- Good knowledge of technical language and engineering terminology
- Working knowledge of the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oils
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Maintain proper factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- 2+ years hands‑on mechanical or electrical experience
- Experience with MTU engines and electronics
- Experience in a large engine service industry
- Experience in testing of diesel engine components
- Experience in operating forklift trucks
- Experience in rigging of weights up to 1 ton
- Experience in report and service letter writing
Working From Home US
Pay$33.21 - $49.82 hourly
