The Board of Rooks County Commissioners are looking for a Road and Bridge Supervisor.

Rooks County is a local county government located in NW Kansas with a population of approx. 4600 and 1333 miles of road and 133 bridges. The Road and Bridge Department office is located in Stockton.
This is a full‑time exempt position. Benefits include County paid health and life insurance, and KPERS. Starting salary is $62,766 annually with longevity increases at regular intervals.
ResponsibilitiesManaging employees, reporting to the county commissioners weekly, managing a budget and cash flow, maintaining roads and bridges in the county, applying for grants, applying for state and federal funds, and effectively communicating with the public and handling complaints.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Class A – CDL driver’s license with required endorsements
- 10 years of experience in supervisory and administrative field
- Ability to follow County Commissioners Directives
- Exhibit administrative skills
- Pass and comply with required Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to work and communicate with employees, commissioners and general public both verbally and written
- Ability to fill out required paperwork
- Ability to pass the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to work flexible hours and to work more than 40 hours per week
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds as needed
