* Interventional Radiology Technologist,
** Part-Time*
* As a Part-Time
** Interventional Radiology Technologist** , you'll perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced imaging technology to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Working alongside interventional radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you'll help deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of imaging quality, radiation safety, and infection prevention. This position has been created to support the continued growth of our Neurointerventional Radiology program.
** Schedule*
* Part-Time
Work either two or three 9-hour shifts per week.
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Perform complex diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures under the direction of an Interventional Radiologist.
+ Prepare and maintain a sterile procedural field while following established infection prevention and aseptic techniques.
+ Position patients and imaging equipment to obtain high-quality fluoroscopic and diagnostic images that support procedural accuracy.
+ Prepare and administer contrast media as directed while monitoring patients for adverse reactions and following established safety protocols.
+ Provide direct patient care within the technologist scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, assisting with patient transport, and utilizing appropriate infection prevention practices.
+ Participate in procedural time-outs to verify the correct patient, procedure, and treatment site.
+ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient, and coordinated patient care.
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
+ Operate imaging equipment safely while following ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and providers.
+ Wear and maintain required radiation monitoring devices, including dosimeter badges, in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
+ Monitor inventory, check expiration dates, stock procedural supplies, and notify appropriate personnel of supply shortages.
+ Perform routine equipment checks and report equipment concerns to ensure safe operation.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* Knowledge of fluoroscopic imaging equipment and Interventional Radiology procedures.
+ Ability to quickly learn and master advanced Interventional Radiology techniques and technologies.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members from diverse backgrounds.
+ Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and independent decision-making.
+ Knowledge of radiology software applications, PACS, and electronic medical record systems.
+ Ability to learn and follow departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
+ Commitment to maintaining required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and annual competencies.
