Job Description Summary
As an HR Generalist, you will serve as a key partner in delivering a seamless, compliant, and employee-focused experience across benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, and compliance activities. You will support employees through important workplace and life events, provide guidance on HR programs and policies, and partner with leadership, third-party administrators, and benefit providers to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance.
This role contributes to consistent HR practices, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and effectively balances operational execution with employee support.
Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, life event changes, employee education, and issue resolution. Serve as a primary contact for employee benefit inquiries and elevate complex matters to brokers or HR leadership as appropriate. Generate and analyze HR and benefits-related reports to support compliance, audits, and operational decision-making.
Leave of Absence AdministrationManage leave of absence cases and communicate with employees, managers, and third‑party administrators. Ensure certifications and documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
Workers' CompensationSupport workers' compensation claims administration, including reporting, documentation, and return‑to‑work coordination.
Health & SafetySupport workplace health and safety initiatives, reporting requirements, and OSHA‑related compliance activities.
ComplianceMaintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and required employee notices. Support company compliance programs and documentation processes. Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content.
Employee RelationsConduct fact‑finding, documentation reviews, and internal investigations related to employee concerns. Support conflict resolution efforts and facilitate appropriate communication between stakeholders. Partner with managers on performance discussions, employee coaching, and policy interpretation.
Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes, operational efficiency, and employee experience.
QualificationsRequired Experience supporting HR operations, including one or more of the following: benefits administration, leave administration, employee relations, or HR compliance. Knowledge of employee benefits administration, leave practices, and employment compliance requirements relevant to assigned responsibilities. Experience handling confidential and sensitive employee information. Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, maintain accurate records, and recommend practical solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and service quality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, workers' compensation, and workplace safety compliance. Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms. Experience working with third‑party administrators or benefit brokers.
The base compensation range for this position is $70,000-$80,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is also eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
